Zsolt Bugarszki is a Hungarian-born author currently based in Singapore, whose lifelong passion for storytelling bridges science fiction and social insight. With a PhD in social sciences and a professional background as a university associate professor, his work explores human behavior, complex systems, and the shifting dynamics of civilization, themes that resonate deeply throughout his writing.
Zsolt began writing at the age of twelve, filling notebooks with stories, sketches, and speculative scenes. Though many early works remained unfinished, writing remained a constant thread in his life, evolving from personal journals and essays into fully realized narratives. Today, his fiction blends meticulous research with emotional depth, offering readers immersive experiences grounded in realism, yet propelled by imagination.
His debut novel, Icarus, marked the beginning of a larger vision: a speculative universe that examines humanity’s future beyond Earth. But at the heart of his stories are not machines or technologies, they are people. Whether set on Mars or elsewhere, Zsolt's work asks what remains when the layers of society are stripped away, and what new forms of connection and conflict emerge in extreme environments.
As both a researcher and a writer, Zsolt believes in the power of storytelling to reflect, question, and ultimately reimagine the world we inhabit or may one day inhabit.
